Medium Duty Kingpin Casters
Kingpin Rivet or Kingpin Bolt – A threaded nut and bolt, or staked component, that holds the swivel assembly together
Top Plate – A horizontal plate for attaching a caster to equipment
Load Ball Bearings – Row of steel balls or rollers that allow the yoke base to swivel
Yoke Base – Flat part of the yoke to which the legs attach
Thrust Ball Bearings – Additional bearings to provide more stability and movement
Button – Forms the lower raceway of the thrust race; keeps thrust bearings in place
Nut – Attaches to a kingpin bolt, holding swivel raceway together
Legs – Metal extensions to support the axle for wheel use
Heavy Duty Kingpin Casters
Top Plate – A horizontal plate for attaching a caster to equipment. Our Heavy Duty casters have an integrated kingpin bolt.
Load Bearings – Row of steel balls or rollers that allow the yoke base to swivel
Yoke – Assembly to which the legs attach, and in which the bearings rest
Axle Bolt – The bolt on which the wheel revolves
Axle Nut – Nut which secures axle bolt to yoke assembly
Retaining Washer – Keeps bearings in place
Kingpin Nut – Attaches to a kingpin bolt, holding swivel raceway together
Spanner Bushing – A tube which spans the legs over the axle, on which the wheel roller bearing rides

Top Plate – A horizontal plate for attaching a caster to equipment
Integrated Inner Raceway – Inner Raceway for containing bearings, welded to top plate
Ball Bearings – Row of steel balls that allow the yoke base to swivel
Yoke with Outer Raceway – Assembly to which the legs attach, with precision-machined outer raceway to contain ball bearings
